We have an ongoing design partnership with Navirec – a company providing solutions for online tracking, analysing and improving everyday fleet operations and management. Throughout this cooperation, our role was designing new features both for web platform and mobile app and maintaining Navirec’s design system.
Bringing change with consistency
During our work on Navirec web platform we focused on creating design solutions that could be easily adjusted to the needs of any customer, from a small company to a public sector enterprise, and that could help efficiently manage any number of vehicles, drivers and any amount of data generated by them.
To achieve this we have designed the following features:
notification system with an option to create custom and targeted notifications about specific types of events carried out by certain drivers/vehicles
settings area with improved navigation for easier fleet management
form-building tool for efficient data gathering
customisable reports
Focusing on what matters
Navirec web platform had a complex structure with functions ranging from creating reports to booking vehicles. To design the mobile app, we had to ditch the idea of creating the same product but for smaller screens, and instead focus on main tasks a user needs to carry out on their mobile phone and in what sequence. As a result, we have designed:
vehicles and drivers overview with current sensors data, average fuel consumption, speed, distance and other day total parameters
driving history view with main vehicle events, such as harsh braking, idling or exceeding the speed limit, shown on the map and an option to play the whole vehicle route and view sensors data at any given time
reports and premade templates that can be generated and shared with other users
areas overview and creation, allowing monitoring of geographical places and setting notifications on the events happening in those areas
